Birthday Invitation Decline

FNAC Sevilla: Javier Quevedo Puchal by itself. Domestication

I request my fellow editorial NGC Fiction! Francis P. Fernandez to prepare a small self-interview The Subcultural , which speaks a little of my latest book, Bodies ripped , who just went on sale. If I am to be honest, is not the first time I do something similar (and for my first novel, The third wish, I Curre something similar), so I know in advance which is what this exercise "masturbatory" tête à tête of with yourself. And one thing I say, not only serves to make known a little more about the novel in question, but also for self-interviewed the author makes strange association of ideas and open doors that otherwise might remain closed ... the least to give the interviewer who had a key for them. So, thank you, Francis, for the opportunity.

A display mode for those who do not know me, say I'm Javier Quevedo Puchal, born in Castellon in 1976, though I spent most of my life living in Onda, and now in Madrid. I remember my first childhood vocation was to be a writer. And you where to look, but life and bringing you along to where she wants, at the end we manage to eventually return to the first vocation. In that sense, but not the only one I feel really lucky. Arguably, my oldest literary obsession were the tales of the Brothers Grimm, and I still have not gotten rid of it. Since then, I have been nourished by a number of sources as heterogeneous, in one way or another, have ended up slipping into what I write, sometimes openly, sometimes more insidious: Angela Carter Ray Loriga, David Lynch, Clive Barker, HP Lovecraft, Julio Medem, Pedro Almodovar, Neil Gaiman ... sometimes seemingly irreconcilable references, I know, but surely, all that I have tits sucked, if I may use the image. Finally, if you want to know more about me, I invite you to visit my blogs:

Without further ado, then, we went to the interview with myself .

JAVIER: It is surprising that after two novels of romantic air as sharply as The third wish and curses All world, we now sags of terror.

JAVIER: Actually, the transition has not been as sharp, as all stories and short story that I published in 2010 belong to this genus. In any case, I think Bodies ripped maintaining a certain point of view, some form of see things that could relational, even from afar, with my first two novels. Ultimately, although those had a strong emotional charge, the vision that gave the affairs of the heart was not at all cloying nor complacent, but realistic and sometimes a little sad, if not bleak. With Bodies ripped is the reverse route: starting from a dark wrapper, unappealably often sordid, it weaves a story with a strong emotional charge, which results in a final ironic perhaps as unexpected as the curses All world. I guess that even with all their differences in gender, form and substance, the three novels just talking about the same: complex and contradictory human emotions.

J: There seems to be a horror novel to use.

J: Man, I'm not going to be so bold as to attribute to this point the invention of warm water ... but I can tell you that I have confined myself only to some personal way to make things. My intention was to write a particular story, whatever that might be limited to any particular genre. In any case, this presentation reminds me of old papers of David G. Baker, in which the author said that, rather than a crime novel, he had left a melodrama. In my case, one could say that what I have left is a generic cocktail, which begins as a drama with suspense and a few drops hints of terror, it becomes dark melodrama spiced with a bit of detective novels and in the final third and climax, reaches its greatest heights of terror as much psychological depth. Maybe that sounds like a hodgepodge cold, but I think it's over saliéndome a fairly uniform and consistent work. I am disappointed that someone found the least monotonous while reading.

J: In the abstract we can read in the back there is a considerable variety of characters, situations, places and times. Can we consider Bodies ripped like a novel coral?

J: In principle, some of it is. Moreover, I guess from the title itself is targeted to that certain quality coral you mention, as it refers not only to the "body tattered" Renee, but also to Lucio and, of course, Eva. Each one of them, "DESC" for a reason and a specific implications, of course. I think they are characters that complement each other in one way or another, meaning all aspects of the same problem (or, if you will, on the same topic). In any event, as Fernando Camara said in the foreword, as the novel progresses the reader will discover that despite the mishmash of characters, you could say that there is one player in essence. What is it? That will have to find the reader.

J: For what do you get it up, what do you think the introduction of House?

J: First of all, a luxury. And of course, an honor that someone like him who has given birth to a genre as iconic as Memories fallen angel or a novel as gripping as Necroparís , have enjoyed my book. I can only feel grateful ... and (between you and me now that no one hears us) a little overwhelmed. The same I can apply to Felideus and its wonderful cover, which gets all stylization of one of the sessions cathartic absolution of sins committed by Renée.

J: Bodies ripped explores a number of very tricky problems, maybe even uncomfortable for the audience, not always do so kinked. Do not you feared to face such sensitive materials on knowing all the controversy could perhaps be expressed?

J: If the controversy helps sell copies, not for me to curb it ... heh, heh. No, seriously, the fact is he knew full well what I got when playing certain tracks (which I'd rather not mention here, if you do not mind, so as not to generate spoilers.) However, I believe that I never approached any of them as frivolous, but on the contrary, I try to give enough background and packaging as you do not run in a vain attempt to cause, because after all never that was my goal. What some readers may run into certain passages removed his conscience, or even more than his conscience? It is very probable. Will this be a problem? I think the opposite: it would be a very clear indication that the novel has managed to absorb it, make him share in what happens in it and, ultimately, not to let indifferent. That's my goal, after all. Someone may feel more or less annoying is circumstantial. With themes such as those handled in the novel, it would be naive for me to think that everyone will feel perfectly comfortable. And in any case, I do not think the discomfort is the novel itself, but rather that to continue to occur today with the passivity of certain things, if not the indifference of many. In this regard, I can only be grateful to NGC Fiction! for daring with a history of these features.

J: In this respect, a little bird told me your editor Pily B has played an important role in the final design of the novel. Is it so? Tell us about it.

J: Exactly. In the first version I sent, Pily considered that there was a slight dip towards the middle of a novel. Surely I got carried away too much understanding for each and every one of my characters and, somehow, it ended up playing against the rhythm of history. Luckily, Pily gave me some guidance on how to give more grip believed the manuscript, so I thought of ways to adapt to these guidelines and, after receiving his approval, rewrote a particular stretch of history. In the end, both were enthusiastic about the result, which has won horrors of suspense and intensity. If I am to be honest, is the first time that a publisher makes me consider the idea of \u200b\u200brewriting part of a manuscript ... and the truth is that I recommend to all writers! It is very healthy and gives results phenomenal.

J: Apart from the official blog of the novel ("The confession of Renée"), has undertaken an initiative as unique as creating a Facebook profile on behalf of Renee (Williams) one of the main characters of the novel. What you are outlining activities to promote the book?

J: The truth is that the profile on Facebook is nothing original, they have done before or writers like Khaled Ali Lucia Etxebarria. Perhaps my contribution to this invention is that the profile is complemented by the fictional diary Isabella Renee's assistant, wrote in the first official blog entry: "The confession of Renée." In that sense, both (and especially the blog) are like "extras" in addition to the novel gifts. With respect to more promotional activities, we have during the month of March at least two presentations in Madrid (one of them, Bookseller Study in Scarlet, nothing less than a live performance of his own and his assistant Renee Isabella ... and the other at La Casa del Libro, involving no less impressive than Fernando Cámara). In any case, I invite interested parties to remain very Agenda carefully the official website of NGC Fiction! or the official blog of Bodies ripped (http://cuerpos-descosidos.blogspot.com/), in which it will keep you informed of all developments in this regard, I believe that there will be few.

J: Would you add something else to attract public attention to the novel?

J: Honestly, it is difficult to talk about the book without revealing too much and expose the element of surprise ... and the truth is that ripped bodies that have a lot of surprises and secrets. So I can only recommend to readers to dive into your pages without fear, with an open mind and prepared to live what I hope is quite an experience. I think the trip was well worth it.

Bond Angle At The Central Atom Of Clf2-

emotional (II): The world behind the scenes

The trouble is this, brother Biedermann: We are perfectly resigned to the belief that the world has always been as and not going to change now.

After every major social achievement lies a great failure and is, precisely, that the conquerors have never been clever enough to prevent others can redirect these achievements along the way to take just the site they most agreed . In fact, it is now more than ever that we can transform the current state of affairs because, look, have convinced us with extraordinary success that any other will always be worse.

Today everything is radically different from what happened in the past because you have changed something that stood before: us. And not just to accept the injustice or lack of equality and liberty without blinking, but we have been taught to understand, accept and believe, from our earliest days and school desk, which is perfectly reasonable that it would violate common sense to think of any other way of doing things. So completely normally accept that our working conditions have to be those that are the real enemy is the fellow next door because inevitably seek to move the chair, our pay has to be low because, although closely pressed much the shoulder (or we engage, as they say), occupy the lowest positions and easy to fill the ranks, that the stay in our employment depends in no case competition itself but from the unfathomable to those who have designs on top.

And not only that. Live up grateful for a job with which to pay the mortgage and bills, so we do not propose even the slightest temptation to rebel against the daily injustices no matter what and whoever falls. We are willing to accept the harassment of colleagues, our partners earn less money for equal work, that we try to kick if necessary, someone is dismissed unfairly and even some complete our superiors are incompetent, and yet , to give us orders, we pushed around, we require hundreds of jets.

Let's face it: We've been emasculated to the point that in many companies today no longer exists a committee, a dissenting voice, or someone minimally authorized to lodge complaints without fear of consequences on the conditions under which develop our work and get with it, some results. How would be the case where unions and unionists are another of the parties benefit from the existing status quo . Or do you believe that unions living off membership fees? If so, for decades that trade unionism and its entire ecosystem lenguaraces and false liberals would extinguished.

So we spent the day surrounded by fellow misfortunes with which we talk about these issues in the small intimate breakfast time, if we have it, but we are well aware that these talks are simple and spillway, the hour of truth, we are all alone under the circumstances because no one lifted a finger to help. And then we will have no other than sinking into a spiral of lawsuits, judgments, lawyers, resources and years of effort, hardship and perhaps lameness until we give us the right, if we can afford to bear the economic uncertainties and time of litigation. Or not.

seems that the race towards the rights of workers and the welfare state has been an epic of struggle, riots, revolutions, fights, sticks, pumps, shot, killed and wounded quite paradoxical and at last we have reached, slowly but surely, begun to dismantle it with our consent, respect and most distinguished consideration. And more than opium: most have convinced you that all these misfortunes are about a necessary evil and even less that someone "up there" fix. Blessed innocence. Are you so naive as to believe that politicians -Whatever their color, they'll fix the ballot are much more tame than you think. This system of armchairs, representations, despacheos and bazaars that have been invented is a pit of liars, a soup and a silly hoax. Little more.

every so often change the faces of those who govern, but they all send the same things and the only change are the styles. In addition, they are simply putting the face because they are not really handle the roost. They are the puppets that occupy the stage and our attention so we can not see people pulling the strings from the stage machinery.

The world, my friend, is not the scene. Learn.
